B&M hypers are comfy but not always elite

Started by trackside_mel on Jun 16, 2026 7:10 PM

I like them a lot, but sometimes it feels like people rank every B&M hyper super high just because its smooth. I wanna hear what everyone actually thinks.

Quoting the last point: no, thats exactly the thoosie brain rot I mean. I kinda agree but your underrating the first drop. A good drop can carry a whole ride for me. Also sorry but that take is wild. I know folks wont like that but whatever.

I dont buy fast lane unless the park is already expensive enough that missing rides would ruin the trip.

Capacity should count in rankings a little. A great ride that moves the line is a better park ride.

For night photos use a fence post or trash can as a fake tripod. Not elegant but it works lol.

Some unpopular opinions are just people trying to be different. But some classics really are overrated.

If you only care about airtime you miss half the hobby. Setting, sound, pacing, all that matters.

I like launch coasters but lift hills build suspense. A chain lift at sunset is unbeatable.

Maverick is better than a bunch of taller rides and I will argue that forever.

Recognizable coaster pics should show the signature element. Like dont upload a random support column and call it good.

RMC is amazing but I dont want every wood coaster converted. Some parks need to preserve the weird old stuff.

cedarpointcamper replied on Jun 21, 2026 11:10 AM

I dont care about credit count as much anymore. I would rather reride the great stuff.

Dive coasters are fun but the layouts after the drop need more love. Some of them just wander back to the brakes. Also sorry but that take is wild.

Weather changes everything. A hot evening ride can make a mid coaster suddenly feel cracked.
